Situated between Lake Louise and Jasper, and considered one of the most scenic highways in the world. See a panorama of snowcapped mountain peaks, hanging glaciers, waterfalls, canyons and often wildlife such as moose, big-horn sheep and bear.
Ten miles long and nearly 500 feet deep, it is the largest lake in the park, is a direct result of glacial carving. High peaks surrounding the lake all show evidence of the power of glaciers to carve even the hardest of rock. The powerful glaciers that carved the broad "u-shaped" valley that Lake McDonald sits in also carved smaller hanging valleys with wonderful waterfalls that are accessible by numerous hiking trails.
Go for a ride over the Going-to-the-Sun Highway, acclaimed as one of the most beautiful roadways in the world. The 52-mile journey crosses the Continental Divide through Logan Pass at an elevation of 6,680 feet and includes the Weeping Wall and Birdwoman Falls along with many spectacular mountain vistas.

Day 1
Arrive in Calgary, meet your Tour Director and transfer to your hotel. Tonight enjoy a Welcome dinner with fellow travelers.
Day 2
Today travel south and visit Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump. The interpretive center is a UNESCO World Heritage. Site and bears witness to a custom practiced by native people of the North American plains for nearly 6000 years. Later enter Waterton Lakes National Park and see the historic and spectacularly situated Prince of Wales Hotel. Travel across the border into Montana and Glacier National Park. The isolated location of the park leads to fewer visitors during the summer season, making it a haven for some of the world’s endangered species such as the gray wolf and grizzly bear. Stay in the park and enjoy dinner this evening.
Day 3
This morning our destination is the heart of Glacier National Park, the Crown of the Continent. The excitement begins as you board a 1930’S Red Jammer Touring car for a ride over the Going-to-the-Sun Highway, acclaimed as one of the most beautiful roadways in the world. The 52-mile journey crosses the Continental Divide through Logan Pass at an elevation of 6,680 feet and includes the Weeping Wall and Birdwoman Falls along with many spectacular mountain vistas. We’ll stop at Lake McDonald for lunch on your own. Continue onto the Kalispell/Whitefish area of Montana for an overnight stay.
Day 4

See the bright red walls of Sinclair Canyon and travel through Radium Hot Springs. Arrive in Banff for a three-night stay in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Banff is a resort town in the province of Alberta, located within Banff National Park. The peaks of Mt. Rundle and Mt. Cascade dominate its skyline. On Banff Avenue, the main thoroughfare, boutiques and
restaurants mix with château-style hotels and shops.
Day 5
This morning travel north along much of the Icefields Parkway, situated between Lake Louise and Jasper, and considered one of the most scenic highways in the world. See a panorama of snowcapped mountain peaks, hanging glaciers, waterfalls, canyons and often wildlife such as moose, big-horn sheep and bear. Scale Bow Pass with a stop to see turquoise blue Peyto Lake. Then ride in the specially designed Ice Explorer on the 1000 foot-thick Athabasca Glacier, part of the Columbia Icefield. The experience features a guided tour of the glacier and engaging commentary about glaciers, the local ecosystem, and environmental changes. Return to Banff for an evening on your own in the lively yet quaint downtown area on Banff Ave.
Day 6
Today see two of the crown jewels of the Canadian Rockies: Moraine Lake & Lake Louise. First stop to view
spectacular Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Next stop at the Chateau Lake Louise to explore and capture spectacular views and photos of Lake Louise & Victoria Glacier. Later enjoy a Banff area tour including Mt. Rundle, Bow Falls, Tunnel Mountain and the Hoodoos. Cap off another scenery filled day with a ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountain via the Banff Gondola. From the summit see six stunning mountain ranges and the sweeping Bow Valley before you, the views are nothing short of breathtaking. Tonight enjoy a memorable Farewell dinner in the Banff area at a local restaurant with your fellow travelers.
Day 7
Today transfer to Calgary and fly home filled with wonderful memories of the Canadian Rockies & Glacier National Park.
