Maryland Inn

Built between 1772 and 1782, the Maryland Inn has been privy to centuries of Annapolis history. Dine at the historic (and haunted!) venue for lunch. In the late 1700s, Annapolis served as the antions first peacetime capital under George Washington. Throughout the 18th and 19th centruies, this has been the location of the legendary Maryland Inn, popular for lodging statesmen, governors and colonial and revolutionary war persona. Delegates of the 1783-1784 U.S. Congress stayed at the Maryland Inn when George Washington resigned as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army and ratified the Treaty of Paris.

 

Menu Choices include:

  • Grilled Chicken Breast on a Herb Focaccia Sandwich with applewood smoked bacon, avocado, manchego, red pepper aioli with house chips.

  • Grilled salmon with tangerine glaze, jasmine rice, and grilled asparagus

Ghost Guided Walking Tour

A ghost tour guide will join us during dessert to share tales about the ghosts of the Maryland Inn. Then, follow the spirited guide through the timeless narrow streets of this old and creaky town for an hour long walking tour. We will be stopping at spooky spots, hear stories told with dramtic zeal of those that have passed. Haunted sites include Reynolds Tavern, Church Circle, and the Maryland State House.

 

Harbor Boat Cruise

Enjoy a 40-minute Annapolis Harbor and US Naval Adademy Cruise. Step aboard the classic Harbor Queen for a narrated cruise of the Annapolis Harbor and the banks of the U.S. Naval Academy. Hear the history of the Naval Academy, Annapolis' role as a historic seaport, the region's waterways, and catch a glimpse of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. This cruise is an Annapolis tradition!

 

 

Need to Know:

The walking includes about a 1/2 mile of walking and the streets are mostly brick/cobblestone.

 

 

Accessibility:

There is a ramp to board the boat, unless there is an unusually high tide. A wheelchair can be rolled onto the boat. The restrooms on the boat are not wheelchair accessible, but the restrooms at the nearby Harbormaster building are.
