Our visit includes a glassmaking demonstration at the nearby Perry Glass Studio, bringing the art form to life as world class artists show how these masterpieces are created.

Douglas MacArthur Memorial

Located in downtown Norfolk, the Douglas MacArthur Memorial is the final resting place for General Douglas MacArthur and his wife. The memorial's extensive collection of military & personal artifacts allows visitors to discover the compelling story of General of the Army, Douglas MacArthur and the millions of American men and women who served our nation during the Spanish American War, WWI, WWII, the Occupation of Japan and the Korean War.

 

Treasures on view include the 19th & 20th Century medals, flags, paintings, weapons and equipment. A 25-minute film on MacArthur's life is shown in the theater.

As the home of the original waffle cone, Doumar's believes in creating great traditions and keeping them going. You'll love their handmade waffle cones, rolled right in front of your eyes on the original four iron waffle machine, built in 1904. Doumar's has a long history and has been featured on the Rachael Ray Show and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

 

Nauticus

Visit Nauticus, an exciting science and technology center exploring the power of the sea. This high-tech, virtual reality "museum" allows visitors to explore the rich life of the ocean realm, human uses of the sea through shipping, and the role the port of Hampton Roads has played in world maritime affairs.

Dinner Day 1 is at Orapax and offers a choice of:

  • Chicken Parm

  • Chicken Alfredo Pasta

  • Grilled Chicken Breast

  • Fried Flounder

  • Eggplant Parm

  • Greek Salad with Chicken

Meals includes bread, salad, and a brownie.

 

Dinner Day 2 is at Captain George's Seafood Buffet. The buffet includes Snow Crab Legs, Steamed Shrimp, Steamed Clams, Steamed Crawfish, Steamed Mussels, Blackened Mahi, Broiled Fish of the Day, Broiled Salmon, Fried Oysters, Fried Pollock, Fried Scallops, Fried Shrimp, Oysters, Rockefeller Deviled Crab, Stuffed Clams, Sirloin Steak, Pork BBQ Ribs, Smoked Beef Brisket, & Chicken with an assortment of vegetables, sides, and desserts.

Nauticus Winterfest is a cashless event, food, drink, and other purchases will be accepted by card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

 

 

Accessibility:

Norfolk Botanical Lights - The route is just about one mile and manual wheelchairs are available on a first come first serve basis at the front desk of the visitor center where guests can leave a photo ID to be picked up once they are done with the chair.

 

Starr has a select quantity of wheelchair accessible motorcoaches available; therefore, we suggest you contact a Travel Advisor to discuss any needs you may have before reserving your trip.
