National 9/11 Museum

The National September 11 Memorial Museum stands as the nation’s leading institution for reflecting on the events of 9/11, documenting their impact, and exploring their ongoing significance. Spanning 110,000 square feet within the heart of the World Trade Center site, the museum recounts the story of 9/11 through multimedia displays, archival footage, personal narratives, and a collection of monumental artifacts. It also honors the lives lost in both the 2001 and 1993 attacks, giving visitors the chance to learn about the men, women, and children who perished. Through these powerful artifacts, the museum offers a deeper connection to the events of 9/11, sharing stories of loss, resilience, compassion, and recovery.

 

National 9/11 Memorial

Experience the National September 11 Memorial, a profound tribute to the nearly 3,000 lives lost in the 2001 terror attacks at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, PA, as well as the six people who perished in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The Memorial's twin reflecting pools, each nearly an acre in size, feature North America's largest manmade waterfalls and are set within the footprints of the original Twin Towers. Surrounding the pools, bronze panels inscribed with the names of every victim serve as a poignant reminder of the tragic loss of life and the heroic sacrifices of rescue personnel.

• Guests are on own to explore the 9/11 Museum at leisure.

• Please be aware of strict security restrictions at the Museum. Avoid bringing large bags; bags must be smaller than 8"x17"x19"; there is no bag storage available.

• There is no time limit when visiting the Museum; however, once you exit the Museum there is no re-entry allowed.

Accessibility

• The 9/11 Museum is very large and requires a lot of walking and standing; wear comfortable shoes.

• Wheelchair and Wheeled Walker Availability: Manual wheelchairs (standard and wide) and wheeled walkers are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis at the Coat Check in the Concourse Lobby; advance reservations are not offered. These are provided for use within the museum only. 

• Museum Seating: Seating is limited throughout the museum, with benches available in the Concourse Lobby, on the Ramp, in Memorial Hall, Foundation Hall, and within the memorial and historical exhibitions.

• Starr has a select quantity of wheelchair accessible motorcoaches available; therefore, we suggest you contact a Travel Advisor to discuss any needs you may have before reserving your trip.
