Trip Highlights:

Adirondack Scenic Railroad

Step aboard the historic Adirondack Scenic Railroad at Utica’s beautifully restored Union Station and embark on a relaxing 2-hour journey into the heart of the Adirondacks. Travel through miles of unspoiled wilderness as the train winds past sparkling rivers, quiet ponds, rushing streams, and dense forests within the breathtaking six-million-acre Adirondack Park. Sit back, relax, and take in the ever-changing scenery before arriving in the charming hamlet of Thendara, New York.

Village of Old Forge, NY

Enjoy free time in the charming Village of Old Forge, where Main Street beckons with an array of unique gift shops, including the renowned Old Forge Hardware. This long-standing staple has served as a bustling hub of commerce for over a century. Wander through this shopper's paradise adorned with woodsy gifts, rustic furniture, and locally crafted goods.

Great Camp Sagamore

Discover the timeless beauty of Great Camp Sagamore, tucked deep within the Adirondack Forest Preserve. Once the luxurious wilderness retreat of the Alfred Vanderbilt family from 1901 to 1954, this remarkable estate features 27 rustic buildings set amid towering pines and tranquil lakeside scenery. Renowned as one of the finest examples of Adirondack architecture, Great Camp Sagamore welcomed many of America’s most prominent figures seeking respite from the pace of modern life. Its handcrafted wood-and-stone design became an inspiration for the rustic style later embraced by lodges throughout our National Parks.

Raquette Lake Lunch Cruise

Enjoy a relaxing lunch cruise aboard the W.W. Durant on beautiful Raquette Lake, the largest natural lake in the Adirondacks. As you savor a delicious meal, take in the breathtaking mountain scenery and tranquil waters that have captivated visitors for generations. Once the summer playground of America’s elite families—including the Morgans, Vanderbilts, Huntingtons, and Carnegies—Raquette Lake is celebrated for its iconic Great Camps architecture. Home to more Great Camps than anywhere else in Adirondack Park, the lake offers a fascinating glimpse into a bygone era of rustic elegance, wealth, and natural beauty.

Rhinebeck, NY

Welcome to Rhinebeck, a picturesque town steeped in history and nestled in the scenic Hudson Valley of New York. Located east of the Hudson River, Rhinebeck offers majestic views of the Catskill Mountains. Its tree-lined streets are lined with charming independent shops offering everything from apparel and home furnishings to books and unique gifts. Rhinebeck's dining scene is a celebration of the Hudson Valley's vibrant locavore movement, featuring both fine dining establishments and casual eateries that highlight local boutique farms and orchards.

Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site

Visit the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site in Hyde Park, New York, beautifully situated overlooking the majestic Hudson River. Known as “Springwood,” this historic estate was the birthplace, lifelong home, and cherished retreat of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The residence has been carefully preserved, with its interior remaining much as it was during FDR’s lifetime, offering a fascinating glimpse into the personal life of America’s 32nd president. Guests may also visit the peaceful rose garden, the final resting place of Franklin and Anna Eleanor Roosevelt.
