Our rail adventure concludes upon arrival in Thendara, NY.

Village of Old Forge, NY

Enjoy free time in the charming Village of Old Forge, where Main Street beckons with an array of unique gift shops, including the renowned Old Forge Hardware. This long-standing staple has served as a bustling hub of commerce for over a century. Wander through this shopper's paradise adorned with woodsy gifts, rustic furniture, and locally crafted goods.

Great Camp Sagamore

Explore Great Camp Sagamore, nestled within the Adirondack Forest Preserve, where the Alfred Vanderbilt family owned this sprawling estate of 27 buildings from 1901 to 1954. This masterpiece of Adirondack architecture served as a retreat for some of America's most influential figures seeking a break from modern life. Its wood and stone structures epitomize the rustic vernacular architecture that inspired our National Park lodges.

Raquette Lake Dinner Cruise

Enjoy a delightful Lunch Cruise aboard the W.W. Durant on Raquette Lake, the largest natural lake in the Adirondacks! Savor a four-course meal amidst stunning vistas. Once the playground of the rich and famous like JP Morgan, Vanderbilt, Huntington, and Carnegie, Raquette Lake is renowned for its Great Camps architectural style. It boasts more Great Camps than any other location in the Adirondack Park, offering a glimpse into a bygone era of opulence and natural splendor.

Rhinebeck, NY

Welcome to Rhinebeck, a picturesque town steeped in history and nestled in the scenic Hudson Valley of New York. Located east of the Hudson River, Rhinebeck offers majestic views of the Catskill Mountains. Its tree-lined streets are lined with charming independent shops offering everything from apparel and home furnishings to books and unique gifts. Rhinebeck's dining scene is a celebration of the Hudson Valley's vibrant locavore movement, featuring both fine dining establishments and casual eateries that highlight local boutique farms and orchards.

Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site

The Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site resides in Hyde Park, NY, overlooking the majestic Hudson River. "Springwood" was President Franklin D.
