Kreider Farms

Experience a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at a real, working dairy farm that’s been family-owned and operated since 1935. Enjoy a guided tour and witness the daily activities on the farm, including a ride through the Maternity Barn, where you may witness the birth of a calf, and the state-of-the-art milking operation, where 1,700 cows are milked three times a day. Cap off your visit with a breathtaking view of the farm and surrounding Lancaster County farmland from the 100-foot-tall Silo Observation Tower.

 

Kitchen Kettle Village

Hungry for Pennsylvania Dutch goodness? Make your way to Kitchen Kettle Village, an outdoor village of more than 40 shops, including the famous Jam & Relish Kitchen, where you can sample a variety of some 100 homemade Pennsylvania Dutch comestibles before you buy. There are also shops selling leather goods, pottery, specialty yarns, candles, furniture, oils and, of course, Amish quilts - a souvenir staple. You'll also find stores serving up sweets (you must try the shoofly pie and whoopie pies - two iconic Lancaster County treats), hand-twisted soft pretzels, kettle corn, smoked meats, and more. Watch basket weaving, fudge making, homemade ice cream making, painting, woodcarving, and leather works.

 

Meal Information:

 

Lunch is included at the Cat's Meow. Choices are:

• Nachos Grande (no side): seasoned meat, two cheeses, tomatoes, scallions, jalapenos and black olives served with salsa and sour cream

• Fasig Burger: mushrooms, bacon, pepper jack cheese and chipotle mayo served with chips

• Cat's Meow Caesar: romaine, tossed in a Caesar dressing topped with grilled chicken, parmesan cheese, tomatoes, croutons and garlic bread

• Something Different: grilled chicken breast topped with bacon and cheddar cheese on a Kaiser with a side of BBQ served with chips

• Model A: slow roasted pot roast with American cheese and mayo on a grilled Kaiser roll served with chips

• Tyler's Twist: grilled ham, Swiss cheese and honey mustard on a pretzel roll served with chips

Lunch also includes one scoop of Kreider's ice cream flavor of the day for dessert along with soda, coffee or tea.
