Historic Downtown Riverhead is where vibrant communities come together, blending charming mom-and-pop shops with modern developments. Art and culture define the area's landscape, creating a unique atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. As the gateway to Long Island's East End, Riverhead offers easy access to the sun-kissed beaches and lively social scene of the Hamptons to the south, or the scenic farm stands and world-renowned wineries of the North Fork to the north. This growing hub of tourism, transportation, and culture is nestled between the forks of eastern Long Island, with a character all its own.
Fish & Sips at Long Island Aquarium is a highly anticipated annual event that brings together over 20 local wineries, craft breweries, and other unique beverage makers for a one-of-a-kind tasting experience. Visitors can sample a wide variety of exquisite wines, craft beers, and specialty drinks, with the opportunity to purchase their favorites to enjoy at home. The event also features live music, delicious light fare, and the chance to explore the aquarium after hours. This festive celebration of the harvest is the perfect blend of great drinks, entertainment, and marine life.
Discover what life was like on a typical farm on the North Fork of Long Island from 1880 to 1920 by visiting Hallockville Museum Farm. Explore the beautifully preserved historic barn and home, where youll step back in time to experience the daily life of the Hallock family, who lived and worked here for over 250 years. As you tour the farm, observe a variety of artifacts and learn about the region's rich agricultural heritage through exhibits that showcase the farm's history and its significance to Long Island's farming roots.
North Fork Chocolate specializes in handcrafting small-batch artisanal chocolates and individual-sized gourmet desserts, using locally sourced farm products and purveyors from Long Island. Committed to quality, they use only fresh, natural, and organic ingredients in their creations. Their signature Belgian chocolate is blended in-house, enveloping handcrafted centers made with local fruits, cream, sea salt, herbs, honey, spices, wine, and spirits. In addition to their chocolates, they craft pies, cakes, tortes, and tarts, all made with the same farm-fresh, local ingredients.
RGNY Winery is a family of passionate winemakers deeply rooted in their Mexican heritage, bringing a unique perspective to the art of winemaking. With great respect for their familys winemaking tradition, they are dedicated to continuing the Rivero González legacy. During your visit, enjoy a tasting of four exceptional wines while learning about the history of the property, the region, and the story behind each wine.
