Acadia National Park showcases the breathtaking natural beauty of Maine's coast, including its coastal mountains and offshore islands. Your guide will highlight historic sites and mansions as you approach the park and iconic landmarks in the park. The tour features four 30-minute stops for scenic walks and photo opportunities at Cadillac Mountain (weather permitting), Thunder Hole, the Jordan Pond area, and Sieur de Monts Springs, home to the Nature Center and Wild Gardens of Acadia.
Enjoy free time to explore Bar Harbor, the largest community on Mount Desert Island. This charming village is renowned for its exceptional dining options, from fresh seafood to farm-to-table produce, craft beer, wine, and locally roasted coffee. Nestled along the scenic Casco Bay, Portland's Old Port is a charming neighborhood that seamlessly blends historic charm with modern vibrancy. Stroll along cobblestone streets lined with beautifully preserved 19th-century warehouses that have been lovingly repurposed into boutique shops, art galleries, and restaurants. The Old Port's history is alive in its architecture and stories!
Embark on a narrated Harbor Lights and Sights Cruise to discover the stunning beauty of Casco Bay. This unique journey showcases Portland Harbors iconic lighthouses and the picturesque Diamond Pass waterway. Start by exploring the bustling inner harbor and main shipping channel, where you'll get close-up views of Civil War-era fortifications and historic lighthouses, including Maines oldest and most photographed beacon, Portland Head Light. As we weave our way among the islands, enter Diamond Pass, known as the gateway to the Calendar Islands. Cruise past charming villages and Victorian cottages, offering a fascinating glimpse into island life.
Your local step-on guide will show you the sights as you traverse Portland's peninsula. Learn the history of this once bustling commercial shipping trade center. Now known as the "Old Port", this popular area is a working commercial waterfront. Eclectic shops, renowned restaurants, and marinas fill this historic area. See the "Portland Observatory", the largest wooden maritime communication tower on the East coast, and a true symbol of Portland, Maine. You will overlook scenic Casco Bay and many nearby islands, as well as seeing the busy Arts District, turn of the century mansions, the boyhood home of American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and more!
