Marble House, built by William Vanderbilt of New York as a 39th birthday gift for his wife Alva Vanderbilt, stands as a testament to Gilded Age opulence. After their divorce in 1895, Alva married Oliver H.P. Belmont and moved to Belcourt, located just down the street. Following Belmont's death, she reopened Marble House and added a stunning Chinese Tea House on the seaside cliffs, which became a venue for women’s suffrage rallies. Experience the grandeur of Marble House at your own pace with a self-guided audio tour.

 

Olde Mistick Village

Olde Mistick Village is much more than just a shopping destination; it’s a charming experience that transports you back in time. Meal Information:

 

Dinner on day one is included at Johnny's Restaurant. Choices are:

• Chicken Picatta with capers 

• 12 oz. Grilled NY Sirloin

• Vegetarian Entree

Dinner includes salad, dessert, coffee, tea, and soft drinks.

 

Lunch on day two is included at Newport Playhouse Lobsterfest. Choices are:

• Boiled Lobster

• Oven Roasted Chicken

Lunch also includes mussels sauteed in white wine & garlic, and a choice of New England clam chowder or salad. This delicious feast also includes corn on the cob, roasted red bliss potatoes, and fresh baked rolls. Dessert choices include: strawberry shortcake, chocolate brownie, or watermelon. Drinks included are coffee, tea, and water.

Need to Know:

• The Marble House tour requires a considerable amount of walking; wear comfortable walking shoes.

• Marble House: This tour is self-guided. Visitors must bring their own smart device with earbuds/headsets and download the free Newport Mansions tour app before visiting. Printed scripts may be available and staff may be on hand to answer questions.

• The Marble House: offers partial wheelchair accessiblity. The front door has one step for entry. The second floor is accessible by elevator or stairs. The mezzanine, kitchen, and pantry are not wheelchair accessible. A handicap-accessible restroom is located on the second floor.

The Wyndham Newport Hotel is your waterfront retreat near historic downtown Newport. The hotel features a restaurant/lounge, indoor pool, and fitness room. Guest rooms include one or two king-size beds, coffee maker, mini-fridge, microwave, hair dryer, and iron/board.
