St. John, NB Sightseeing Tour

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Saint John, New Brunswick, the oldest incorporated city in Canada. Our tour will take us through the historic uptown area, encompassing landmarks like the Loyalist Burial Ground and the bustling City Market. Here, you'll have the perfect opportunity to purchase souvenirs and sample local delicacies such as dulce. Journey along tree-lined streets and delve into the city's rich history, including its remarkable recovery from a devastating fire that nearly razed the entire city in the late 1800s. Along the harbor's entrance, you'll encounter the iconic iron lamp known as "The Three Sisters," which has guided mariners since 1848. Enjoy several photo opportunities, including the majestic Fort Howe, offering panoramic views of uptown. No tour in Saint John would be complete without a visit to Reversing Falls. Learn more about the phenomena of the tides of the Bay of Fundy.

One Way Ferry from St. John, NB to Digby, NS

Enjoy a scenic one-way ferry ride aboard the MV Fundy Rose, traveling from St. John, NB to Digby, NS. Unwind in the main lounge, where you can catch the daily featured movie presentation. For outdoor enthusiasts, take a leisurely stroll on the decks, bask in the refreshing breeze, and keep a lookout for sightings of the endangered right whale or other fascinating sea life. Onboard the MV Fundy Rose, satisfy your cravings at the Mid Ship Cafe, serving Starbucks and light fare, or quench your thirst at the Crow's Nest. Lloyd Smith, "Town Crier"

Lloyd Smith, known as the esteemed "Town Crier," will personally preside over the induction of each passenger into "The Order of Good Cheer." This cherished ceremony, dating back to 1605, holds official sanction by the Province of Nova Scotia. Every visitor will have the honor of receiving a certificate commemorating their induction. Dressed in authentic period attire, Lloyd Smith will graciously welcome our group at the Old Orchard Inn during dinner time.

 

Grand-Pré National Historic Site

Grand-Pré National Historic Site is a dedicated park celebrating the rich history of the Grand-Pré area in Nova Scotia, which served as a center of Acadian settlement from 1682 to 1755. It also commemorates the deportation of the Acadians that began in 1755 and lasted until 1762. The site features a church that houses a variety of exhibits, paintings, and stained glass windows, all telling the story of the Acadian people. Outside the church, visitors can admire the statue of Evangeline, the fictional heroine from Longfellow's famous poem, symbolizing the enduring legacy and spirit of the Acadian culture.

 

Peggy's Cove

Located southwest of Halifax, the charming village of Peggy's Cove nestles in a snug harbor where lobster fishermen live and work. The area is renowned for its striking granite outcroppings, where stormy seas dramatically crash against the rugged shoreline. Peggy's Cove is an artist's haven, featuring one of the many iconic lighthouses along the Lighthouse Route, which extends from Halifax to Yarmouth. The Sou'Wester Restaurant and Gift Shop is also located at the world famous Peggy's Cove Lighthouse.

 

Military Tattoo Festival

The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo Festival showcases over 2,000 world-class performers from both military and civilian backgrounds, solidifying its status as one of the world's premier cultural and entertainment events. This extraordinary festival offers a captivating blend of performances, including pipes and drums, military and civilian bands, historical re-enactments, dancers, acrobats, choirs, military displays, competitions, drama, and comedy.

 

Anne of Green Gables Museum

The Anne of Green Gables Museum at Silver Bush, Park Corner holds a treasure around every corner. Set amidst 110 acres, this charming destination boasts a museum, an antique shop, and a craft shop featuring the finest Anne of Green Gables products. Enjoy a scenic carriage ride on the grounds of the museum, and witness the time-honored tradition of Potato Planting/Digging Demonstrations. And don't forget to treat yourself to tea and cookies in the cozy tea room overlooking the Lake of Shining Waters!

 

Confederation Bridge Crossing

Journey across the Confederation Bridge, an engineering marvel that unites the provinces of Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick, Canada. Serving as a vital link in the Trans Canada Highway, this impressive structure ensures swift and seamless travel to and from the mainland. Stretching an impressive 8 miles, it's the longest bridge over freezing waters in the world.

 

Cardigan Lobster Supper

Indulge in a five-course meal featuring: Homemade seafood chowder served with hot rolls, a fresh, small tossed garden salad with house dressing, a bowl of Island Blue cultivated mussels, a 1 1/4 lb. lobster in the shell, accompanied by a side of potato and vegetable,a delectable homemade dessert annd your choice of tea, coffee, soft drink, sweet iced tea, or lemonade. For those who wish to enjoy an alcoholic beverage before their meal, the 1888 Pub, located in the same building, offers a variety of selections for an additional cost. Lobster alternatives are available: Choose Chicken, Steak (served medium) or Vegetarian.

Dinner on day five is at Baton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar. Choices include:

  • Barbecue Pork Back Ribs: 10 oz of our signature fall-off-the-bone succulent pork back ribs, basted in our homemade barbecue sauce served with French fries and creamy coleslaw

  • Santa Fe Chicken: Marinated & grilled chicken breast, grilled red peppers & zucchini, crumbled goat cheese, jardinière sauce, alongside rice and steamed vegetables

  • Top Sirloin: Grilled to order served with baked potato with butter and sour cream and steamed vegetables

  • Atlantic Salmon Filet: Seared Salmon Filet, served with sauce vierge alongside wild rice pilaf and steamed vegetables

  • Chicken Gnocchi: A creamy tomato sauce served over gnocchi with cherry tomatoes, grilled peppers, and zucchini slices. Granished with basil & chicken.

  • Halloumi Gnocchi (Vegetarian): A creamy tomato sauce served over gnocchi with cherry tomatoes, grilled peppers, and zucchini slices. Garnished with basil and halloumi cheese.

Served with choice of soup of the day or Caeasar Salad and a Chocolate Brownie for dessert. Coffee or tea is included.

 

Dinner on day six is at Cardigan Lobster Suppers. Choices include:

Travel to Canada:

For travel to Canada, a Passport Book or Passport Card is always needed when leaving or returning to the U.S. by motorcoach.  Children 16 and under can cross the Canadian border using only a U.S. Birth Certificate (original or copy) with both parents named listed.  Children under 18 not traveling with both parents must have special notarized approval from both parents.

 

We strongly recommend that your passport be valid for six (6) months beyond the completion of your trip.  In addition, we recommend that you make at least two photocopies of your passport; one to be left with someone at home who will assist you in the event your documents are misplaced, lost or stolen and one to be kept in the safe in your room while traveling.

 

Special Notes: Anyone with a criminal record (including misdemeanors or Driving While Impaired/DWI) may be barred from entering or removed from Canada and must obtain a special waiver well in advance of any planned travel. To determine whether you may be inadmissible and how to overcome this finding, please refer to this website:  https://www.canada.ca/en.html or call the Canadian Consulate at 212-596-1600.Those persons traveling to Canada, who are not U.S. citizens, may have additional requirements for border crossing.
