Guided by Captain Skip, also known as the local whale whisperer with over 30 years of experience, this educational cruise offers incredible opportunities to spot humpback whales breaching, flipper-slapping, and tail-lobbing, as well as dolphins, seals, and a variety of seabirds. All boats are ADA compliant and equipped with two restrooms, a snack bar, a full bar, and a heated indoor cabin with comfortable seating. The spacious upper deck is perfect for spotting Virginia's magnificent wildlife. Food and beverages are available for purchase from the snack bar and adult beverage bar. They accept cash and credit cards on all of their boats.

Virginia Beach Sightseeing Tour with Cape Henry Lighthouse

Embark on a 2.5-hour guided riding tour of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, offering a captivating glimpse into the area's history and attractions. Travel to the north end of Virginia Beach and visit Fort Story, an active military base that houses the iconic Cape Henry Lighthouse—the nation’s first federally funded public works project. Upon arrival, your guide will share fascinating stories about the lighthouse’s history, including its connections to George Washington and Alexander Hamilton. Discover the lighthouse’s role as a landmark near the historic “First Landing” site, where English settlers first set foot on their journey to Jamestown. Be sure to explore the memorial plaques and browse the charming gift shop.

 

Captain George's Seafood Buffet

At Captain George's Seafood Buffet, they specialize in serving a wide variety of fresh seafood dishes that are sure to satisfy any seafood lover's cravings. The all-you-can-eat seafood buffets are one of their most popular offerings, featuring everything from succulent crab legs and juicy shrimp to delicious oysters and scallops, soups and salads, an array of vegetables and sides and of course desserts (all homemade!). Bring your appetite!

Dinner on day one is included at Captain George's Seafood Buffet

Dinner will be served buffet-style and features salad, fish, fried fish and seafood, chicken, pork ribs, sirloin steak, smoked beef brisket, homemade baked breads, fresh vegetables, desserts & non-alcoholic beverages.

 

Lunch on day two is included at the Military Aviation Museum. Boxed lunch choices are:

• Turkey and Ham Club Sandwich

• Roast Beef Sandwich

• Tuna Salad Sandwich

• Chicken Salad Sandwich

Lunch includes a house salad, chips, and a bottle of water.

Lunch on day three is included at The Attic at Waterman's. Choices are (travelers order when seated):

• Chesapeake Bay Crab Cake: one premium lump crab cake made with traditional herbs and spices, broiled and served with roasted red pepper aioli, french fries, and cole slaw.

• Guiness Burger: grilled burger, melted cheddar, Applewood smoked bacon, marinated red onions, Guiness mustard aioli, served with fries.

• Waterman Salad with Chicken: mixed greens, pecans, golden raisins, cucumbers, tomatoes, red bell peppers, Granny Smith apples, Gorgonzola, grilled chicken, white balsamic vinaigrette.

• Blackened Salmon Wrap: blackened Atlantic salmon, cucumbers, shredded cabbage, pineapple-tomato salsa, Sriracha aioli, sundried tomato tortilla served with fries.

Lunch includes soda, iced tea, coffee, and Key Lime Pie with a graham cracker crust for dessert.

Need to Know:

• Whale Watch: Suggest wearing layers for comfort, outerwear such as hats/gloves, and shoes with non-slip soles that provide traction. Be prepared for rain, sleet, or snow.

• If you are prone to motion sickness or have never been on a boat in the ocean before, we suggest taking a motion sickness preventing medication 30-60 minutes prior to your trip departure.

• Cape Henry Lighthouse is on an active military base. Government Issued photo ID's are required.

• Every Starr trip includes deluxe round-trip motorcoach transportation from one or more of our departure locations.
