Your tour highlights the historic events that led up to the establishment of the national cultural center that is also our nation's living memorial to President John F. Old Town is Alexandria's beloved downtown and nationally designated historic district on the Potomac River waterfront. The King Street Mile and surrounding brick-lined sidewalks are studded with centuries-old architecture, historic attractions and independent businesses. Old Town is the heart of Alexandria, located just minutes from Washington, D.C.

 

Arlington National Cemetery Trolley Tour

Visit America's largest national burial ground with more than 600 acres of landscaped hills. Among the thousands of white headstones are the graves of President John Kennedy, Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, world champion boxer Joe Louis, and the Tomb of the Unknowns. Changing Of The Guard at The Tomb of the Unknowns: The guard is changed every half hour on the half hour.

 

Washington, DC Sightseeing Tour

The Udvar-Hazy Center displays thousands of aviation and space artifacts, including the Space Shuttle Discovery and a Concorde, in two large hangars.

 

Udvar-Hazy Center IMAX Movie - Living in the Age of Airplanes

Living in the Age of Airplanes is a story about how the airplane has changed the world. Not long ago,traveling between continents was a migration. Now, on any given day, 100,000 flights transport people and things between any two points on Earth in a matter of hours. Filmed in 18 countries across all 7 continents, it explores the countless ways aviation affects our lives (even when we don't fly).

 

With stunning visuals, the film renews our appreciation for one of the most extraordinary and awe-inspiring aspects of the modern world. The documentary is produced and directed by Brian J. Terwilliger (One Six Right), narrated by Harrison Ford,and features an original score by Academy Award winning composer James Horner (Avatar, Titanic). The Airbus IMAX Theater at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center houses the biggest IMAX screen in Northern Virginia. The Airbus IMAX Theater is among the first in the world to feature the latest IMAX laser projection system.This film is presented in 2D

Lunch on Day 2 will be at Carmines and will be served family-style and includes Caesar Salad, Caprese Salad, Penne Vodka, Linguini Garlic & Oil, Chicken Parm, Chocolate Torte. Menu subject to change.

 

 

Need to Know:

Smithsonian security policy: All items (handbags, backpacks, etc) will be subject to search upon entering each museum.

 

Arlington Cemetery security policy: All visitors 16 years of age and older must present a valid state or government-issued photo identification upon entering the cemetery. Visitors 16 and 17-years-old may present a school-issued identification for entry. Persons who are not U.S. citizens must present a valid passport or U.S. State Department-issued photo identification for entry.

 

Before entering the cemetery from the main entrance, all pedestrians will be screened through the Welcome Center. There will be express screening lines for visitors who do not have bags. Those with disabilities will also have an express line for screening. Arlington officials urge people to allow additional time to go through security screening when visiting the cemetery, especially large tour groups.

 

 

Accessibility:

 

Arlington Cemetery Tram - For those individuals who are able to transfer from their wheelchair & can climb 2 or 3 steps, on-demand service is provided. Vehicles used on all ANC Tours are equipped with priority seating and wheelchair storage. For those individuals who require a chair lift, advanced noticed is required to better assist you. Please note that the cemetery does not provide wheelchairs or strollers and if you require this service you will need to bring your own. This tour requuires a good deal of walking.

 

Starr has a select quantity of wheelchair accessible motorcoaches available; therefore, we suggest you contact a Travel Advisor to discuss any needs you may have before reserving your trip.
